Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Los Angeles is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I prefer to not always shop at the big box stores like Home Depot and Loweโ€™s. I went to Armstrong Garden Center. Itโ€™s my first and last time shopping there. I bought a floor model of a wind chime that they reluctantly gave me a โ€œ15 offโ€ discount. It was the last one they had, itโ€™s my birthday, I wanted it. I thought โ€œ15 offโ€ meant $15.00 off. It didnโ€™t mean $15.00 off or 15% off. I did the math both ways and the thing cost me more than I expected. Not sure if Armstrong Garden Centrr made an honest mistake or they crossed the line of whatโ€™s ethical and fair.

California Cactus Center This place is a dream for both new and experienced plant parents. The selection is incredibly diverse, but what really sets them apart is the service. The lady at the front was absolutely amazing at helping us narrow down our choices. She didn't just sell us plants; she took the time to educate us on specific watering schedules, the best plant food to use, and how to ensure everything thrives once we get home. Itโ€™s rare to find such genuine expertise and passion. We left feeling confident and excited about our new greenery!

Armstrong is THE place to go year round for any garden or landscaping needs. Wide selection of plants and products and a very nice, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Layout is easy to explore and shop. Plenty of on site parking too !

Armstrong garden centers are always a great experience. I could not recommend this place enough for good quality plants at reasonable prices. Lots of varieties and most plants come with guarantees so if it happens that the plants are faulty you can exchange them. They also have a selection of indoor plants which is in much cheaper prices than most indoor plant places in LA which tend to be more boutique-style. I wouldโ€™ve loved if they had a little better customer service. Itโ€™s hard to find someone to ask questions and when you do theyโ€™re often not very happy to do so.

Lovely local nursery with knowledgeable and friendly employees. A great variety of indoor and outdoor plants, all incredibly healthy looking and better prices than most spots I've been to. Ditch the big box garden centers and support a local shop with better plants! Also a great variety of pots, planters, and outdoor decor. Expect to find some items and plants you may not have seen before.
